V-H PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi, I’m Vincent Humphrey—husband, father, and photographer. I’ve always been drawn to the magic in life, even though I could never quite master drawing. Little did I know as a child that my true passion would be found behind a camera.

-

Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, it wasn’t until my early 20s that I truly fell in love with photography. As a youth worship leader at a local church, I was constantly around events and a friend with a camera. I was captivated by how their photos beautifully captured our memories, and as an artist at heart, I knew I had found my creative outlet.

The year is 2015. I get a phone call that lands me in Panama City, Florida. I was leaving home. I was excited. This was a huge opportunity for me. I was going to be a worship leader at a church out there. What a time it was too. I had a few friends that lived nearby so I wasn't out there entirely alone, and I became very close with the people of the church. It was a small church with big energy. I absolutely loved it.

-

One day a couple of my friends that were graduating asked me if I could do their graduation photos, just based on the fact that I had a camera. This was the first time that I took serious photos for anyone. I had an absolute blast and it made me want to do more and more. Something about being behind that camera and just directing moments that would create memories changed my life forever. Another exciting life change was in the works.

There was a time in my life when I went through a deep depression, and I found myself spending a lot of time in downtown Pensacola. I remember a pair of decorative doors on the side of a building that I’d stop to shoot with my camera phone. Little did I know, I was teaching myself how to compose shots. Photography became my escape, a way to ease my mind during those tough times.

-

One day, I shared this with my father, and he took me to buy my first camera—a Sony A3000. I was over the moon! I’d head downtown to capture sunset skies and even started taking family portraits for friends. It was the most fun I’d had in a long time. But I had no idea that a major life change was just around the corner.

Soon I would meet the love of my life.
We would meet on an online dating platform. She lived in Key West and I was in Panama City, however she was headed for Panama City. At the time, she, her son, and her mom were all living out there as her father was studying more out this way.

Eventually we would all end up in Panama City together.

She also had a camera, and did some shooting as well. She also sang. Match made in heaven. Am I right? Am I Right?
Of course I am.

-

We'd go out and shoot together every now and then and capture some great work at the time. We even shot a few weddings together. And eventually, we'd get married ourselves.

What an incredible year it was!
However something would happen soon that would turn our lives upside down.

-

Hurricane Michael would eventually come in 2018 and we would find ourselves having to leave Panama City, Florida at the beginning of 2019, due to the damages our home had sustained.

-

So we found ourselves in Pensacola Florida. It was around this time that I really began to dive into the world of photography and began to sort of rediscover my love for fantasy and more obscure styles of art than norm. I would do photoshoots both in laundromats, and nature trails.

So we found ourselves in Pensacola Florida. It was around this time that I really began to dive into the world of photography and began to sort of rediscover my love for fantasy and more obscure styles of art than norm. I would do photoshoots in laundromats, arcades, and nature trails. I was having a grand time at this point and really began exploring different editing styles until I found yet another layer of myself, that's the beauty of this photographic journey is that I continue to find myself and create memories for other people as well, with family portraits and quite a few weddings.

Before we knew it, kiddo number two arrived—a huge moment for us! In 2020, I became the father of two boys. That same year, we transitioned to a new church, one that we’re still a part of today. What a year it was!

-

A few more years of shooting later, we found ourselves expecting baby number three. We were thrilled and planned an amazing maternity session. In 2023, we welcomed our only little girl into the world. We feel so blessed!

-

And that brings us to today. Still parenting, still shooting, still making magical memories. Over the years, I’ve grown as a husband, father, photographer, and as a man.

-

I do this to support my family, to create endearing memories for my clients, and because all these things matter. Memories matter, experiences matter, my family matters, and you matter to V-H Photography.

Let’s make memories together!
